As opposed to: the ability to understand a problem, explain it and consider different solutions to it and its consequences (x1), “Effective” thinking is maybe closer to critical thinking but it’s still a bit woolly – effective thinking might include thinking about which bin your recycling goes into, but that’s hardly critical thinking! (x1), critical thinking is not necessarily associated with “effective” (in a productive sense) (x1).
